SDA is a member of
 

The Slovenian Directors' Association (SDA) is non-governmental and not-for-profit association that was established in June 1997. It is the only membership organization in Slovenia, solely representing the profession of Supervisory Board members an non-executive directors. It joins 600 individual members and 12 corporate members. SDA provides education, certification, research, professional standards, publishing and consulting services to SB members.

Its mission is to connect members of Supervisory Boards; promote education and professionalism, ethical behavior and improve standards of good Corporate Governance. The purpose of SDA is efficient work of Supervisory Boards, good Corporate Governance, shareholder activism and trust, improvement of legislation and business environment.

SDA successfully accomplishes its mission with certification by proposing to candidates and members of SB to become "a charted SB member” by passing examination and setting professional standards. All the candidates that became charted SB members are subscribed in national register of SB members.

SDA focuses on setting good standards for SB members such as Corporate Governance Code, Recommendations for reporting to Supervisory Board, Recommendations for Audit Committees, SDA Code of Ethics.

SDA plays increasingly important role in civil society creating experts network within and with important institutions. In light of its continuous growth SDA fosters the relationship with various associations and institutions in Slovenia and abroad.

In 2006 SDA became a member of European Confederation of Directors Association (ecoDa), in Brussels. EcoDa acts as "the European Voice of Directors” and it’s mission is to promote Corporate Governance at large, the role of directors towards shareholders and other corporate stakeholders, and the success of its national institutes.

The missions of ecoDa are:

  1. to promote the role of directors, to develop professionalism and European governance
    standards by acting as a standing body where national experiences are shared and
    discussed in detail,
  2. to influence the European decision-making on corporate governance by reacting to
    pending issues in the European pipeline or by pro-actively taking own initiatives to generate European debate and reflection,
  3. to provide services to its members, mainly by providing information regarding relevant
    European issues,
  4. to facilitate the development of new national director institutes and attract new members in order to strengthen its European representativeness.
