Po zaključenem študiju na Fakulteti za naravoslovje in tehnologijo Univerze v Ljubljani je svojo karierno pot začel v Agenciji RS za prestrukturiranje in privatizacijo in po opravljenem pripravništvu vodil številne projekte lastninskega preoblikovanja podjetij. Nato si je v Kapitalski družbi nabiral izkušnje na področju informatike in analiz ter ustanavljanja prvega pokojninskega sklada v Sloveniji. V obdobju 2003 – 2005 in 2008 – 2011 je bil predsednik uprave Kapitalske družbe, v vmesnem obdobju pa član uprave v družbi Hit. Nato je v Probankini družbi za upravljanje sprva deloval kot svetovalec uprave in kasneje kot član uprave. Oktobra 2011 je prevzel vodenje uprave Modre zavarovalnice. Odgovoren je za področja upravljanja premoženja, skladnosti poslovanja, planiranja in kontrolinga ter pravnih in kadrovskih zadev.

V Združenju nadzornih svetov (ZNS), ki mu od leta 2008 tudi predseduje, aktivno sodeluje pri razvoju stroke in prakse s področja korporativnega upravljanja in delovanja nadzornih svetov in upravnih odborov. Trenutno je član nadzornega sveta v Krki in Novi KBM. Kot poslovodja in član nadzornih svetov sodeluje pri različnih oblikah zapletenih korporativnih akcijah ter z dolgoletnimi izkušnjami in pogajalskimi sposobnostmi prispeva k reševanju zahtevnih poslovnih izzivov.



Borut Jamnik, Chairman of Slovenian Directors' Association and Chairman of the Board, Modra Zavarovalnica, d.d. After graduating from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering, University of Ljubljana, he was employed at the Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Auditing of Ownership Transformation of Companies, where he took over the ownership transformation projects. In 1999, he started working for the Capital Fund (Kapitalska družba Ltd), where he was in charge of the IT department and continued by taking over the role of Director of the IT and Analysis Department as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.

He was involved in drafting the First Pension Fund and was a member of the Ministry of Finance group responsible for implementing and providing the legal basis for the First Pension Fund Acts. In the period of 2003–2005, he was the Chairman of the Management Board for the Capital Fund Company. He participated in projects where Capital Fund acted as transitional manager or a financial intermediary similar to a bank and as manager of mutual pension funds. Between 2003 and 2005, he was a Board Member in the Hit, d.d. company, responsible for finance, controlling, procurement and management of group companies. In June 2006, he was employed in Probanka Asset Management, first as a management consultant and later as a Board Member.

As a Supervisory Board Member, he was involved in the supervisory boards of companies that underwent transformations in their personnel, status, finances or business. Till April 2017 he was a chairman of Supervisory Board at Telekom Slovenija, currently he is a chairman of Supervisory Board at Nova KBM and member of Supervisory Board Krka.

Since 2008, he has been President of the Slovenian Directors’ Association (SDA).
